Two Brothers Saved From the Dog Meat Trade Are Still Waiting for a Perfect Home Together

We’ve saved and rehomed many precious dogs from South Korea’s dog meat trade, but two special brothers we rescued from a meat truck in 2019 with our partner Jindo Love Rescue are still waiting for their turn, and we desperately hope to place them together.

When Sam and Troy were rescued, they were crammed into cages on the back of a truck carrying 28 dogs to slaughter.

Despite all they’ve been through, they’ve made remarkable progress in our care.

Sam is sweet and calm. While he’s still quite shy and wary of strange places and noises, he’s opened up a lot and loves to go out on little adventures.

Troy’s a sweetheart, too. He’s also shy and needs time to get used to new things, but we know these two would thrive in a home of their own and help each other explore a new world together.

We hope to find an experienced adopter who has the time to put into their care and will be patient with them as they adjust to their new lives, and we know they’ll thrive if given the chance.

Right now, they’re being boarded at a special training school, and while it’s a wonderful place, it isn’t a home; it’s also expensive at $250 a month per dog.

If you’re interested in adopting Sam and Troy, you can learn more about the requirements and send Jindo Love Rescue a message on Facebook to start the application process.

Even if you can’t adopt, you can still help by getting the word out for them by sharing their story, spreading the word about our ongoing need for flight volunteers to escort dogs to their new homes or making a donation.
