WATCH: Another Sweet Mom Saved From a Dog Meat Farm is Finally Home
In 2023, we shut down the Miryang dog meat farm with our partner Jindo Love Rescue. Now we’re celebrating an incredible plot twist for Aurora, who was living on a chain in deplorable conditions there, but is now safely in her forever home in the U.S.
Aurora was among 26 dogs being kept in truly awful conditions while awaiting a horrific fate. When the meat farm’s owner found out she was pregnant, he tied her up on a short chain and kept her outside in all weather conditions with barely any food or water.
We didn’t know she was pregnant at the time of the rescue, but she soon surprised us by giving birth to five puppies. While one of them unfortunately didn’t survive, we named the other four Daffy, Babs, Bugs, and Taz. They thrived in our care, and Aurora was the best mom to them.
While they have all since been adopted, Aurora waited patiently for her turn, and the perfect people finally fell in love with her.
She just arrived safely in San Francisco, where she met her adopter, Natasha Lee, for the first time.
She’s slowly settling in with Natasha, her partner, and their other dog, Solo, who’s she’s slowly been getting to know and is helping her gain confidence as she explores her new life.

We’ve been told she’s getting more comfortable by the day and is slowly seeking out more attention, finally joining her new family on the couch for movie night.
We couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl, and hope many more dogs waiting at our foster center also find the perfect homes. With South Korea’s dog meat ban looming, we’re working harder than ever to save as many dogs as we can before it goes into effect.
How to Help
If you’re interested in adopting one of these sweet dogs, you can learn more about adopting and send Jindo Love Rescue a message on Facebook to start the application process.
Even if you can’t adopt, you can still help by sharing their stories and supporting our ongoing rescue efforts in South Korea by making a donation and spreading the word about our ongoing need for flight volunteers to courier dogs to new homes.
Please also sign and share our alert to help end the dog meat trade in Hanoi, Vietnam.
