A Los Angeles man has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty after being caught on surveillance footage dropping a puppy down a multi-story stairwell, causing serious injury to the dog. Demand maximum penalties in this case!

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, on July 7 its officers responded to outraged callers who saw a social media post of an attack on a 7-month-old dog. The video captured an individual holding the terrified whimpering dog over the railing on the third floor of the building and deliberately plunging her three flights down the complex stairwell.
 

Officers took the dog to a shelter for treatment for a broken leg and also reported the dog was suffering from poor nutrition.

Joeboury Coleman was arrested on a charge of felony animal cruelty at the Koreatown apartment complex in East Hollywood, California where the crime occurred.

Neighbors reported to the media that they had called authorities for months about Coleman's abuse of his dogs. It could be said that authorities share responsibility for the inexcusable abuse Coleman blatantly and violently heaped onto his dogs.

Coleman was booked and initially held without bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 22, 2024.

Subject: Cruel Abuser Must be Served the Maximum Justice

I am writing to you in support of a no-deal prosecution of Joeboury Coleman for his escalating abuse of the 7-month-old dog in his care. Neighbors had repeatedly called on authorities to investigate the abuse Coleman inflicted on two dogs. It wasn’t until a video of Coleman maliciously plunging a whimpering scruffed dog over the railing of his third-floor apartment down the stairwell went viral on social media that authorities finally acted. The dog suffered physical and emotional trauma including a broken leg. His other dog must be confiscated as well.

I sincerely hope you will seek the maximum prosecution in this case, and ensure that Coleman receives mental health counseling and a lifetime ban on being around animals.

These cases of animal cruelty must be taken seriously and abusers must be held accountable. Thank you for your consideration of this important matter.
